Southern California USA Die Casting Companies 2025

Die Casting Foundry – A Description of the Die Casting Parts Production Process – Die casting is a metal parts manufacturing process in which molten metal is injected, under considerable pressure, into a hardened steel die or also called die casting mold. Dies are often water-cooled. The die is then opened, and the die casting metal parts are ejected (many times thousands of die casting parts each day, sometimes only a few hundred die casting parts). Once the die casting tooling is paid for, die casting parts are a very inexpensive aluminum part manufacturing process. (800) 524-8083 – sales@kineticdc.com

Die Casting Aluminum Heatsinks 2025

Die Casting Molds and Die Casting Procedures. Die casting aluminum Alloys is a process in which many industrial products and accessories are produced. And in producing these industrial products and accessories by way of die cast molds, four major steps are considered crucial and important.

The preparation of the molds that will be used in the process is the first step. The molds in question will be sprayed with lubricant and will be closed. The spraying of the lubricant is necessary so as to effectively control the temperature of the die and also to ensure that the finished product will be removed with ease.

Furthermore, when the tooling or die casting molds have been sprayed, the molten metal will then be introduced to the die and this will be subjected under very high pressure. This kind of pressure will be maintained up until the time that the metal has formed. When the metal has been formed within the mold, the die will then be opened and the shot will be ejected by the ejector pins. From here the scrap that includes the runners, flash and the gate will be taken out from the casting which in turn is done with the use of the special trim die in power press.

Also, there is a traditional way of taking the product out of the casting. This is done by hand or can be done by sawing. This will give some rough edges which can be remedied by grinding so as to smooth out the scrap marks. Another way is to tumble the shots and this can be done if the gates present are thin.

Get 500 Die Casting Parts Today

Thank you for being our Kinetic Die Casting parts customer. Kinetic Die Casting Company makes parts for our manufacturing customers using the die casting process. What that means is, we inject molten metal into a steel die mold to make metal parts. When the die casting mold is in the die casting machine, the die casting process to make metal parts is very fast.

Get 500 Die Casting Parts Today

It goes like this:

  • 1. The mold is opened by the die casting machine.
  • 2. Our experienced die casting machine operator sprays the mold with a release agent so the metal part does not stick to the mold.
  • 3. Our operator closes the machine and the machine uses several tons of pressure to hold the mold closed
  • 4. The molten metal is injected into the mold at extreme pressure and speed.
  • 5. After a few seconds the molten metal “freezes” into shape.
  • 6. The machine opens within typically less than a minute.
  • 7. The die casting machine opens and the part is extracted using ejector pins to push out the part.
  • 8. The die casting process starts again, usually within a minute of the last part made.
  • In this way, we make 60 parts for our customer every hour and about 500-600 parts in a 10 hour work shift.

    Die Casting Tooling 101

Commercial Die Casting 101: Tooling Made for Die Casting. Nowadays, die casting is popular choice for metal-working in large scale productions. sales@kineticdc.com Modern automotive, aircraft and related industries require metal parts that are tough and durable. Die casting, other than being a shaping process, is inherently a metal treatment. The final product exhibits high yield and resistance to multi-directional loading. Here is a set of components and tooling made for die casting:

    Die Casting Tooling 101

The most important elements in the method are the dies. A pair of cover and ejector halves is required to start the process. They contain the shape that the molten metal will follow. Unlike other types of casting, dies can produce very detailed pieces in just one processing. However, these parts must be kept clean and lubricated on every operation.

The cover die has an opening that receives the molten metal. It must be carefully lubricated so that the final product will be smooth. Another tooling made for die casting is the set of ejector pins, which are connected to the ejector die. They facilitate quick dropping of the solidified metal. In traditional methods like sand casting, you have to remove the final products from the mold manually.

Another important tooling made for die casting is the fluid line system. Water lines are used to feed water into the machine during compression. Water serves as lubricant and coolant to the contacting parts. Gas escape lines, on the other hand, allow gas to escape from the metal during shaping. If gasses are not allowed to escape, gas bubbles may be trapped in the finished product. Gas bubbles are indicators of high porosity, making the piece weaker to tensional stresses.
