Aluminum Die Casting Parts from a USA Die Casting Company in 2023

Aluminum Die Casting Parts from a USA Die Casting Company? Aluminum diecasting is the least expensive manufacturing process for producing high quantities of intricate aluminum parts. Aluminum die casting is a metal part manufacturing process in which molten aluminum is injected into a steel die or mold to produce up several thousand parts a week. Many times the die cast tool will produce over 100,000 parts before it will need to be replaced.

Aluminum Diecasting is a worldwide competitive manufacturing process. American businesses will search the world over for the lowest die casting prices; they will even order die castings from a non-American source to save a few dollars. These savings sometimes do not include the cost of excellence, the customs and freight charges, and finally, the cost of increased die casting inventory. Our quality and delivery of die castings are in many cases far superior. We not only save our customers the cost of inventory, in many orders our deliveries can be ahead of schedule.

How Can Trim Dies Save Me Money on Die Casting Parts in 2023?

How Can Trim Dies Save Me Money on Die Casting Parts? – Is a question, I get asked frequently from potential customers and current customers.

I will discuss what a die casting part trim die is and what it does, but first we need to know a little about how die casting parts are made. The Die Casting Trim Die is part of the die casting part tooling package.

The molten metal is under so much pressure that the metal “flashes” out around the edges of the part inside the die casting mold. This excess metal is also called “flash”. This flash is typically very thin, sometimes paper thin, wall of metal. The flash is frequently sharp and can cut fingers if not handled carefully. After the part cools sufficiently, the flash must be removed before we can ship the die cast part to our customer.

The most common ways to remove flash are:

    • Using a file or sander – Somewhat labor intensive and subject to “artistic interpretation” from the worker. Not always consistent in the process.
    • Using a trim die – A trim die cuts consistently .005″ to .010″ close to edge of the die casting part like a cookie cutter. Is also the fastest way to remove flash.

The trim die is in two parts and each half is bolted on either the upper or lower platen of a trim press. The trim press has typically 15 to 20 tons of closing pressure. The press raises and lowers as the worker actuates the buttons. The die casting part fits perfectly in the trim die bottom, the trim die top half closes on the part and uses a cutting edge to cut the excess metal (flash) away from the part.

Because the trim die cuts the flash from the part accurately and consistently, the part quality is always better when a trim die is used to remove the a flash. So, less money is wasted on poor part quality. The trim press also operates faster than the die casting machine so the flash removal takes less time and labor, thus saving money in part production.

Each of our die casting production cells at Kinetic Die Casting Company has at least one trim press to accommodate a trim die for every die casting production part order. Every customer who owns a trim die, saves money on their part price. Call us today for a FREE competitive part price proposal to make your parts 818-982-9200.

What is the Difference between “Low Pressure” and “High Pressure” Die Casting Parts in 2023?

High Pressure Die Casting Parts. What is the difference between “Low Pressure” and “High Pressure” Die Casting Parts?

Kinetic Die Casting Company makes high pressure die casting parts. The term “Die Casting”, in the USA means a high pressure process whereas in Europe it means a low pressure manufacturing process.

High Pressure Aluminum Die Casting? High pressure die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal (aluminum) is injected with a die casting machine under force using considerable pressure into a steel mold or die to form products. …. READ MORE: High Pressure Die Casting

    High Pressure Die Casting Machine

Low pressure die casting is similar to sand casting. Gravity is used fill the molten metal into the mold. This process is much slower, about five minutes or more per part (less than 100 parts per day) than high pressure die casting (more than 500 parts per day), about a part every minute. The part cost for high pressure die casting is much less than low pressure die casting.

The Difference between Die Casting or Investment Casting in 2023

The Difference between Die Casting or Investment Casting. If you are to select, what will you favor more; die casting or investment casting process? Choosing between the two is quite a quandary since they have some comparable features. To help you select, this article will help you by presenting the rewards of both techniques.

    Advantages of Die Casting

    1. Die casting delivers difficult shapes with a reasonably high level of accuracy linked to other mass production technique.

    2. Die cast parts are being fashioned at a quicker rate than most of the processes. Also, it needs little to no secondary machining.

    3. Due to its high accuracy when it comes to details, die cast parts are dimensionally stable. In totaling, it is also long-lasting.

    4. The surface of die casting parts is fairly smoother than the metal cast parts shaped by other methods. Also, the surface could be fashioned with a wide variation of uniformities.

    5. Die cast parts, compared to the metal castings fashioned by other methods, can be accomplished with thinner walls.

    Advantages of Investment Casting

    1. Investment casting brings the designer the freedom and malleability of almost myriad alloy choices, and also elasticity in inside and outside configurations.

    2. Investment casting parts are industrial in a way that only trivial secondary machining is vital.

    3. Investment casting procedure doesn’t have any draft requirements, making it more exact when it comes to dimensional conformance.

    4. One thing that Investment casting could assert about is its benefit in aesthetics. Fine details and intricate features, texts and logos are positively attainable.
