Tooling for Die Casting. Aluminum die casting is a metalworking process mainly used to create several small to medium sized parts. This process results in parts with the almost exact same dimensions, smooth surface finish and with incredibly high detail. The process of aluminum die casting typically involves molten metal to be forced into molds under high pressure to create each part. Then, they are machined into dies. Common metals used for this process are non ferrous metals such as tin, copper, magnesium, zinc, lead and aluminum; although ferrous materials can also be used. Due to the versatility of this process, it has become one of the highest volume of products made in the industry.
First of all, the Die Cast Tools used in this process is known as the die cast tooling or die cast mold. This mold is made from strengthened steel and can come in several shapes and sizes. They are available in single cavity, where one part is created per cycle, and multiple cavity, where several parts are created in a single cycle. Stroh Die Casting Company Filed For Receivership
A die casting company that as Stroh Die Casting was a longtime fixture among Milwaukee-area manufacturers has filed for receivership in Juneau County.
The firm, which dates to 1903, sought protection from creditors in the bankruptcy-like proceeding earlier this month. It is expected the company will be sold as a going business, court-appointed receiver Michael Polsky said in a statement Friday.
The expected buyer has agreed to offer jobs to all of the company’s employees, the statement said. Polsky could not be reached for further comment.
Stoh Die Casting, once located on E. Michigan Ave. downtown, Wauwatosa WI. Stroh operated a factory at 11123 W. Burleigh St., Wauwatosa, for more than 50 years. The location is now the site of one of the new grocery and general merchandise stores being opened here by the Michigan-based Meijer chain.
In 2009, Stoh moved its Wauwatosa work to its plant in Mauston.
The company has gone through a series of name changes. As a Mauston-based firm, it has operated as Stroh Precision Die Casting LLC. It now is formally known, however, as PDC Acquisition LLC. That is the name of the entity that filed for receivership.
In early May, Park Bank was awarded a $5.1 million judgment against PDC Acquisition, online court records show. The judgment has not been satisfied, according to the records.

Update On Ten Thousand Aerospace Parts In 4 Weeks
Last Monday 7/20/15, I wrote a newsletter about our goal to ship the 10,000 aerospace die casting parts in four weeks.

These aerospace die casting parts have a special acme thread that needs to be completed, post processing. The parts are die trimmed, then the parts are vibra deburr finished, then we polish the parts and finally we put in the acme thread. We do a final inspection visually and with gauges, write the product certifications, pack and ship the parts…. Here is an update on that commitment: As of this week, we will have shipped 7,000 die casting parts of the 10,000 die casting parts on order. That delivery is two weeks earlier than projected.
