Aluminum Heatsinks – Your Personal Air Cooler. A lot of manufacturers love purchasing aluminum heatsinks due to their efficient approach towards heat dissipation. If there is one thing that these products are known for, it should be that. In instances …

Bracket Castings on Boeing 747-700 Airplane
Finding Die Casting Bracket Castings in many very different locations is interesting. While flying in a Boeing 747-700 Airplane I discovered that the “Seat-Back Tray-Table” is held up using two aluminum die casting parts as Bracket Castings. These bracket castings were attached to the seat back of the seat in front and to a plastic tray table. These aluminum bracket castings are painted white to match their surroundings. These aluminum brackets are strong enough to hold a laptop or a plate of food or even the hands of someone working a puzzle or a book. These brackets are strong because they are designed using geometry that gives the bracket casting strength with corner radii and ribs and gussets.
Aluminum Die Casting Airplane Parts are very common. Most airplanes are made from aluminum as the metal of choice. Aluminum is lightweight and strong.
Aluminum Handle in Die Casting
Kinetic Die Casting is currently making an die casting tooling insert to produce an Aluminum Handle in Die Casting. This aluminum handle will be used as an aluminum airplane part. There are requirements for X-Ray for the Aluminum Die Casting Part. A special square hole will be diecast into place using minimal die casting draft in the part. This part will also have a threaded hole in the side to allow for a tightening screw. The die casting insert tool for the Aluminum Handle in Die Casting will take about eight weeks to produce and aluminum die casting part samples will be produced within a week of tooling insert completion.

Chocolate Fountain Business
Business Development Assistance from Kinetic Die Casting –
A few years ago, Kinetic Die Casting helped develop a Chocolate Fountain for a professional caterer. The caterer had talked about this idea for a couple years to many people before contacting Kinetic Die Casting. This catering company owned and rented commercial chocolate fountains to ordinary people. These chocolate fountains they rented out for $200 to $400, depending who was renting them. It was a great new business concept, make an inexpensive chocolate fountain that anyone could purchase and sell them for the price that most companies were renting them for. Their plan was to sell them for less than $400, an amount that most people renting them would gladly pay.
Kinetic Die Casting saved the catering company a lot of money by making aluminum die casting tooling inserts for $6,000 and making 500 inexpensive aluminum parts for them in less than 8 weeks from our first meeting. Six weeks for the tool and two weeks for tooling approval with production and machining of aluminum die casting parts. Their plan was to sell 50,000 units, then develop a larger version for commercial uses.
This was the first “consumer chocolate fountain” in the marketplace. A great idea that apparently, many other companies thought of as well. We do not know how many people this customer told about the idea or how many quotes they asked for prices from, before they found Kinetic Die Casting.
They waited too long. – A few months after this chocolate fountain hit the market, there were several “cheaper” models sold by larger distributors. They lost this market niche rapidly. The marketplace got flooded with too many chocolate fountains selling for less than $100. They were able to sell less than 1,000 units. Too Many Chocolate Fountains
This example, is an example of how a good idea can either make a “New Business” millions of dollars or how an new business investment fell short of expectations. This was a great idea that still made money, but not as much as it could have made. A great idea, but too slow to the marketplace.
Die Cast Tooling Mold Bases
Kinetic Die Casting owns several Die Casting Tooling Mold Bases that we use to produce aluminum die casting parts. These die cast mold bases are convenient for use for customers who own die casting tooling inserts but not a die cast mold base to use in a die casting machine. Some of the moldbases we own are as small as 12″ by 12″ and are as large as 36″ by 36″. Kinetic Die Casting also owns DME unit dies and MUD bases. DME unit dies are available in many sizes. Kinetic Die Casting primarily uses two DME Unit Die sizes:
Kinetic Die Casting will mount “customer owned” die cast tooling inserts into our mold bases so we can produce aluminum die casting parts. We can mount inserts ranging in sizes from 3″ to 20″ and all sizes in between. If a customer contacts us and they own die casting tooling inserts only, we can make parts for them. We have also made die cast tooling inserts for customers that will fit our mold bases. The tooling inserts are many types, like:
Die Casting Tooling is the greatest cost barrier to producing aluminum die cast Custom Metal Parts. The die cast die mold base is a very large percentage of the die cast tool cost. Kinetic Die Casting uses our die casting mold bases to save money for our customers, so they can get the die casting parts they need.

Aluminum Auto Parts
Because aluminum is lightweight and strong, aluminum die casting parts are used for automotive, car or automobile applications. Aluminum Auto Parts are necessary to reduce the weight of the automobile so cars can get better fuel economy. The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) or Major auto manufactures love aluminum die casting for their auto parts because several thousand parts can be produced a year at a very low cost. Some OEM auto makers have their own die casting plants to produce their auto parts. Others contract with Jobshop die casters to produce their aluminum auto parts. Aftermarket auto parts manufacturing companies are companies that produce auto parts to be sold in stores. Aftermarket auto parts manufacturers use die cast aluminum auto parts because they are inexpensive to produce and are typically better quality than other aluminum part manufacturing processes. Prototype parts or Custom Parts or OEM parts and Aftermarket Auto parts come in various locations, such as:
Aluminum Die Casting Handles
Car door handles have been die cast as well as the aluminum handle hardware that opens the console and the trunk of the car.
Aluminum Valve Covers
Valve covers are very commonly die cast in aluminum because they hold a chrome look without using chrome plating. Valve covers need to diffuse heat and aluminum is a great conduit for thermal transfer.
Aluminum Wheels
Many wheels are thought to be made from magnesium but are in fact made from aluminum. Aluminum is very strong and can be polished to a high luster.
Aluminum Brackets
Many of the engine components are held into place using die cast aluminum brackets. The brackets hold the alternator and air conditioner into place.
