The History of Hyatt Die Cast & Engineering Corporation – For nearly seven decades, Hyatt Die Cast & Engineering Corporation has been part of Southern California’s manufacturing story, building a reputation for precision, engineering expertise, and dependable die casting. Founded in 1956 in El Segundo, California, the family-owned company began its journey during a period of rapid growth in American manufacturing and aerospace.
In 1966, Hyatt relocated to Cypress, California, where the company became an established member of the local manufacturing community. Over the decades, Hyatt grew from its early roots into a sophisticated manufacturer serving customers in industries where quality and reliability are essential. Its customer base has included companies in aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, communications, commercial, and gaming markets.
A major part of Hyatt’s success has been its ability to provide more than die casting alone. The company developed an integrated, turnkey approach that brings engineering, tooling, die casting, machining, finishing, assembly, and other services together. Its engineering team works with customers from the design stage, helping transform concepts and drawings into manufacturable die cast components.
Tooling has also been central to Hyatt’s capabilities. The company maintains an in-house tool and die operation capable of designing and fabricating die casting tools, trim dies, and other production tooling. Once tools enter production, they can be maintained and modified internally, helping reduce downtime and keep customer programs moving.
As Hyatt expanded, so did its manufacturing capabilities. Today, the company has operated with more than 150,000 square feet of manufacturing space across its Southern California facilities. Its equipment includes high-pressure die casting machines ranging from 250 to 1,650 tons, allowing the company to produce castings ranging from less than an ounce to more than 75 pounds.
Hyatt’s commitment to quality has been particularly important to its work in demanding industries. The company’s quality system has included AS9100 and ISO 9001 certification, along with ITAR and EAR registration for defense-related production. Hyatt has also received recognition from major customers, including Boeing’s Supplier Excellence Award for quality and delivery performance for six consecutive years.
From its founding in 1956 to its growth into a modern, integrated manufacturing operation, Hyatt Die Cast & Engineering has demonstrated the importance of combining experience with technology and engineering innovation.
Hyatt’s history is ultimately a story of manufacturing excellence, long-term customer relationships, skilled employees, and a commitment to producing precision components that meet demanding requirements.
