Kinetic Die Casting Company makes Superior Quality Aerospace Die Castings.

Monday, August 29th, 2011

Our customer recently sent us a die casting tool to produce die casting parts. He recently experienced a reject from his customer and he needed our help.

Honeywell Aerospace (aerospace company) uses a quality inspection document, EMS 230, to accept or reject high pressure die casting parts. Our customer supplied die casting parts to Honeywell and these castings were rejected for “Cold Shots”.

Cold Shots are imperfections in the metal flow into die casting parts due to the metal freezing or solidifying prior to the metal filling the die casting cavity. It usually happens when the metal flow is limited or the metal is not the proper temperature or the die casting mold is not the proper temperature. As a great quality die casting company, we solve these issues every week. We control the metal temperature with thermocouples and we control the die temperature in our die casting process.

It can also happen if the die casting tooling or the die casting part is poorly designed. The die casting process needs metal to flow rapidly into the die casting tool to make solid die casting parts. Design of the tool or part can limit that fluid process.

This is what happened in this case:

* The die casting tooling gates into a section of the die casting part of about 0.030″ thick wall thickness. This is thinner than recommended for the metal to flow into the die casting. This restricts the metal flow.
* There are sections of the die casting that are over .200″ thick. Consistent wall thicknesses are critical for sound die castings.
* The prior die casting company added overflows and vents that worked against each other by filling the tool from two or three directions. These gates, vents and overflows created turbulence in the shot process which cause the metal to cool prematurely.

What did Kinetic Die Casting Company do for our new customer?
* We made some fast tooling changes to improve the metal flow in the die casting tool.
* We made great quality die casting parts for our new customer.
* We did this in less than three weeks for our happy customer.

New Die Casting Military Parts

Friday, December 10th, 2010

New Die Casting Military Parts. New Die Casting Military Parts is important as it produces strong and lighter results. Producing high quality military parts using die cast is vital, because ensuring the safety of the military is essential for the safety of the individual as well. You want to make sure that the group of people who keeps you safe is in good hands with right tools and strong equipment.

For the reason that new die casting military parts are produced as a whole and not assembled consisting of detached separated parts, the result is therefore stronger alloy for the equipment.

Right as this moment, New Die Casting Military Parts are produced for the United States Government respectively for the army, navy, air force, missile defense agency, and many others. Examples of these parts are the Fire suppression system housing for armored vehicles. It is important to make its composition well-built as it allows the military tank passengers and drivers to survive in case the fuel tank is hit. Another example is the missile nose piece. It is important to have this die casted because it needs to withstand a lot of pressure and force. Other examples are the Military Fire sensor housing and Military Pump parts.

Examples of Aluminum Military Parts

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Examples of Aluminum Military Parts. Aluminum is a very light weight material that occurs naturally. It is a metal conductor that can be processed inexpensively. There are many other properties that make aluminum the perfect material for the manufacture of many things. The use of aluminum has a wide array of applications that has become apparent in numerous different industries. Aside from it most popular use as tin cans for processed foods and other commodities, aluminum is also used in the manufacture of vehicle or automobile parts, musical instruments, lighting fixtures, and computer parts among others.

While the use of aluminum as material for fabrication is seen in many ordinary and daily commodities, other socially-significant needs and fabrications may also involve the use of aluminum. For instance, the use of aluminum is also relevant in the manufacture of parts for military use.

Military is the social line of defense that has a very important aspect in our lives. When we hear the word military we often imagine big and heavy equipment, vehicles and armor. While this may be so, it can come as rather surprising that many military parts are actually made from a very light weight material such as aluminum. Examples of aluminum military parts include missile nose piece, armored vehicle fire suppression system housing, housing for military fire sensor, military pumps, etc.

How are Aluminum Military Parts Made

Friday, August 6th, 2010

How are Aluminum Military Parts Made. It is not surprising anymore if you find out that even military devices have aluminum parts. Indeed, this is true. The operations of military personnel can never be complete and successful without the use of this material. Some of the most common military parts made in aluminum include armored vehicle fire suppression system housing, missile nose piece, fire sensor housing, pump parts, and a lot more.

However, as compared to other aluminum made materials, aluminum military parts are made differently. It greatly depends on the military device in where it will be attached or used into. In short, aluminum military products are in a made to order basis. Unlike other parts that are easily available in the market, a person or an organization that needs military parts need to order one first before they can have the part they need.

More often than not, an aluminum military part manufacturer works on a specific part in less than a month from the date of order. In most cases, the order can be made in around two week’s time. Once the manufacturing of the part is finished, they are conveniently shipped to whoever made the order. With all these, aluminum military parts are made in a longer period than other devices. This is merely because they need to be carefully crafted to promote efficiency at all times. These military parts cannot afford to become failures.

The advantages of Aluminum Military Parts over steel

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

The advantages of Aluminum Military Parts over steel. There are dozens of new innovative ideas when it comes to creating military parts. And one of such innovations is using aluminum over other kinds of steel. But what exactly are the advantages of aluminum military parts over steel?

  • The use of aluminum in the military can be traced as far 1892 when it was built as part of torpedo boats. Since then, aluminum has been popular in the market for building military parts, especially in combat equipment. But the need for aluminum was actually a result of lack of iron and steel. Alloys were made and certain parts made of aluminum were developed as part of a weapon or a military vehicle.
  • What’s good about aluminum is it has good thermal properties and can withstand humidity. It is also flexible and it offers freedom from low-temperature embrittlement and provides better rigidity. When combined with a different kind of steel, it is also resistant to corrosive waters. This would also mean better protection without the unnecessary bulk, thickness, and weight. And because it weighs less, for the armors with aluminum alloys, mobility is increased. This also applies to armored vehicles, especially in aircrafts.
  • Aluminum has now has various uses. It is even used in commercial highway vehicles. But the aluminum for the military is designed for specific purposes. You could try knowing more about it through research, but one thing is for sure, new uses for aluminum in the military are always being updated.
