Contech casting plants sales to Revstone approved

US Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes approved the sale of Contech LLC casting plants in Auburn and Pierceton to a private equity firm, Wilmington, Del.-based Revstone Industries LLC, on June 16.

Michigan-based Contech LLC filed for bankruptcy protection in January in Detroit and has been seeking for buyers for its six casting plants in Indiana, Michigan and Tennessee since March.

The Auburn plant produces rack and pinion housings and the Pierceton plant makes suspension links, axle components and engine components, Contech Web site said.

To date, 134 staff members work at the Auburn plant, though 33 are on layoff and 122 work at the Pierceton plant, including 25 on layoff, the court documents detailed.
